So, a recent post on here reminded me that I had a tweak to do exactly this.
Basically, it just uses the name of the contact that is saved on your phone for displaying notifications, instead of whatever funny name the sender chose.
Tested on Whatsapp 2.16.6, on iOS 8.4 --- but theoretically it should work for all iOS versions.
(i'm aware watusi does this too, but this tweak does one thing, and is free)
